A demo announcement at the Secret Sauce Showcase
On July 16, 2026, the developers shared a new trailer associated with the Secret Sauce Showcase and announced a demo planned for October 6. The event introduction led into a feature overview of the Submerged Lands, with a trawler at the center of fishing, exploration and survival. This report covers the original announcement; the current download situation belongs on the Demo page.
More than catching fish
The announced exploration activities include searching land and water, retrieving drifting cargo with a Grappling Hook Gun, opening locked containers, solving puzzles and using the ship’s radio to discover destinations. The announcement also calls out cabinets, crates and abandoned containers as things to search. It does not identify guaranteed item drops or publish a complete world map.
Catches, crafting and progression
Players were told to expect both peaceful and predatory fish, processing catches into materials, and trading fish or salvaged resources with residents. Lures and tackle can be crafted at a workbench in the announced scope, while a Fishing Skill Tree supports upgrades. The trading guide explains how those activities connect without assuming a best profit route.
Four kinds of vessel upgrade
The Ship Upgrade Skill Tree feature list names Hull Armour Mk I, two engine options, a fish-storage upgrade and a roof-mounted lantern. Fuel cans and gas stations, repairs, Sea-Blight polyp removal and resting are also described. These examples make the boat more than a travel screen, but do not establish exact costs or a complete tree. See boat upgrades.
Tools and access are separate questions
The Grappling Hook Gun and Harpoon Launcher are named as equipment taken into the wilderness. Their inclusion does not supply comparable damage statistics or unlock requirements. Read weapons and tools for the evidence boundary. Reaching the announced demo day also does not, by itself, establish an available installer; check the linked current access record.
Keep the original date attached
The announcement included a separate July focus test and its application deadline. Those historical instructions should not be treated as active invitations. This article retains July 16 as the source event date even though this independent report was published later.
